On the way to Las Vegas, our last stop before heading to Death Valley, we took a detour on part of historic Route 66, starting in the town of Williams. We stopped by Ash Fork as it has a Route 66 Museum. As we were the only visitors, we got the full attention of the curator who gave us a detailed overview. What was meant to be a quick stop turned into an hour long stay, putting us completely off schedule. There were a lot of memorabilia in the museum, but what I found most interesting was its collection of Hopi Kachina dolls, which you can see below.

We found a curious, bit wacky section of Route 66 in Seligman - mostly restaurants, shops and gas stations. We had lunch at Westside Lilo's, you can see its interior decorations below. The highlight was the jumbo sized cinnamon bun, for which it was famous.
Las Vegas had in recent years become a magnet for a sizeable American Chinese community so we were happy to have a decent meal at a locals recommended Chinese restaurant, the Rainbow Kitchen - we had our first Chinese greens in 10 days!
Next stop - Death Valley.
